The Full Journey

01
Stage

Consultation

Every great space begins with a great conversation. In this initial stage, our design team sits down with you — in person or virtually — to deeply understand your vision, lifestyle, aesthetic preferences, functional needs, and project goals. We take time to understand not just what you want, but why you want it.

This stage also covers preliminary budget alignment and timeline expectations, so there are no surprises down the road.

Concept Development

Our design team gets to work translating your vision into a tangible creative direction. This stage includes developing mood boards, colour palettes, material concepts, and spatial layout ideas that communicate the look and feel of your future space.

You'll review and refine the concept with us before anything is locked in — this is a collaborative, iterative stage where your feedback shapes everything.

Design Proposal

Once the concept is approved, we develop the full design proposal — including detailed 3D visualizations, floor plans, furniture specifications, material selections, and a comprehensive cost breakdown. You'll see your space come to life before a single piece is moved.

This stage also finalises the project contract, payment schedule, and execution timeline in full transparency.

Execution

With your approval in hand, our project team takes full ownership of bringing the design to life. From procuring premium materials and custom furniture to coordinating skilled artisans, tradespeople, and logistics, every element is managed with precision and accountability.

Throughout execution, you receive regular project updates and have access to your dedicated project manager for any questions or decisions that arise.

Handover & Support

The project isn't finished until you're fully satisfied. We conduct a comprehensive final walkthrough of your completed space, ensuring every element meets the standard agreed at proposal stage. Any snags are resolved before keys are handed over.

After handover, we provide a post-completion support period so you're never left without assistance once the project is complete.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

How long does a typical project take?
+
Project timelines vary based on scope. A single room typically takes 3–5 weeks. A full apartment fit-out runs 8–14 weeks. A commercial project may take 12–20 weeks. We provide a precise timeline in your proposal before work begins.
Do you handle both design and installation?
+
Yes, Walex is a full-service design firm. We handle everything from concept creation and material sourcing to furniture procurement, installation, and finishing. You deal with one team, not multiple contractors.
Can I be involved in design decisions during the project?
+
Absolutely. Client collaboration is central to how we work. You'll be involved at every key decision point — from concept approval to material selection — and you'll have direct access to your project manager throughout execution.
What happens if I want changes mid-project?
+
We accommodate reasonable changes during execution, though significant scope changes may affect timeline and cost. All change requests are documented and approved before implementation so you're always in control.
Do you work outside Port Harcourt?
+
Yes. While headquartered in Port Harcourt, we serve clients across Nigeria including Lagos, Abuja, Warri, and Enugu. Travel and logistics costs for out-of-state projects are included in your project proposal.
How is payment structured?
+
Payments are structured in milestone-based instalments tied to project stages — typically an initial deposit, a mid-project payment upon material procurement, and a final payment upon satisfactory completion. Full payment terms are detailed in your project agreement.
